THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER, Position Description Number D243000 and is part of the 107TH ATKW, National Guard.

As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER (GS-0346-13) you will serve as the base senior Logistics Management Officer/Commander assigned to the Logistics Readiness Squadron, Mission Support Group, in an ANG Wing. Its primary purpose is to provide overall senior level supervisory management of the logistics personnel and programs. Plans, directs, and administers logistics programs to include Operations Compliance, Cargo Movement, Air Transportation, Logistics Plans, Vehicle Maintenance and Management, Ground Transportation, Fuels Management and Material Management. Supervises positions engaged in substantive logistics work. Responsible for overall management of the units' resources, manpower, equipment accountability, internal controls and training in peacetime, in preparation to perform the State and Federal missions.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

Qualifications
Military Grades: Officer
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Experience managing complex base logistics functions to include Operations Compliance, Cargo Movement, Air Transportation, Logistics Plans, Vehicle Maintenance and Management, Ground Transportation, Fuels Management and Material Management. Experience directing and coordinating logistics activities including the authorized procurement and provisioning of supplies and services and management of materials and equipment. Experience exercising independent judgment involving major decisions and actions that have a direct and substantial effect on the organizations and programs managed. Experience managing all Wing and Geographically Separated Units deployment/redeployment processing, ensuring the deployment readiness of the members.

Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: May be authorized for highly qualified candidates or hard to fill positions. TAG is final approval authority for any incentive requests.
Relocation costs are authorized subject to provisions of the Joint Travel Regulation and an agency determination that a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is in the Government's best interest.
Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered for this position. TAG is final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90 day break in service).
