Supportive Housing Navigator

The Supportive Housing Navigator provides bilingual housing & services navigation for all supportive housing prospects. The Navigator will provide detailed housing information for all FC properties and connect prospects directly to available housing options. The Navigator will place prospects on open supportive housing waitlists. This position supports both the Property Management and Resident Services teams of the SRO Supportive Housing department and provides strong, person-centered housing navigation services to the community. The position will report directly to Associate Director of Supportive Housing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with property staff to remain current on tenant selection criteria, applicationprocessesand waitlist procedures; make sure information on the website is up to date
  • Interface with the public via phone, e-mail and in person toprovideprogram information and respond to housing inquiries; provideexcellent customer servicesto makeprospectsinteraction with FC positive
  • Serve as single point of entry for supportive housing waitlists: monitor openings and place prospective applicants directly on open waitlists via Haven Connect; educate applicants on creating a Haven Connect account & updating personal information in the system;providenew property lease-up information andexplain lease-up/lottery process
  • Track all calls,emailsand visits to capture data on the needs of callers
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources for alternate housing options for prospects whodon’tmeet FC criteria;providegeneral services navigation
  • Provideadministrative and data entry support to the SRO Services team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational skills,follow-throughand attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality
  • Experience working with homeless and/oreconomically disadvantagedadults and/or families preferred
  • Knowledge of non- profit housing and social service organizations a strongly encouraged
  • Bilingual in Spanish and Englishpreferred

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Requires sitting, standing, keyboarding, lifting (under 10 lbs.), filing, twisting, bending, driving

Opportunity to work from home 1-2 days a week after 90 days

Other: full-time - 40 hours; $21.50 hourly based on experience; with benefits
