Job description

Senior Strategy Consultant

Owns specific projects onstrategic analysis, competitive research, and product/service evaluation. Derives key insights forFASthrough competitive research. Informdivisionwide strategy and decision making by analyzing complex data, diagnosingbusinessissuesor opportunities, evaluatingFAS's strategy compared to our competitors, and uncovering ways to improveadvisor andinvestor outcomes across business offerings.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive strong business outcomes throughaccurate, high impact, data-driven analyses, and is comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with internal clients (primarily senior leaders) and key stakeholders/business partners.

  • Create compelling storylines through which to deliver strategic, competitive, and product/offer analyses and recommendations to senior leaders.

  • Provides direction and guidance to a team of strategy analysts aligned with each Vanguard line of business around key strategic topics and questions.

  • Provides thought-leadership byidentifyingstrategic topics and presenting compelling ideas for research evaluation to the Corporate Strategy organization.

  • Participates in department-level planning for Vanguard, contributing insights derived from analysis and synthesis of the team. Manages client relationships andanticipatesneeds.

  • Conducts efficient and thorough analyses ofsubstantial(i.e., high impact) strategic issues confrontingFASutilizingstrategicmethodologies.

  • Leverages and manages cross-functional teams asrequired. Prepares and presents strategic analysis, findings, and recommendations to senior management (e.g.,story-lines, presentations, whitepapers).

  • Develops and implementsstrategicplans to achieve departmentalobjectives. Works with senior management in the planning,developmentand execution ofshort and long rangegoals.

  • Keeps abreast of industry, market and company trends, and partners with business leaders to understand key concerns and opportunities for each line of business;tailorsanalysis and synthesis around these topics.

  • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience (Master'sdegree or PhD preferred).

  • Minimum of eight years' business experience, includingsignificant experiencein strategy consulting and financial analysis.

  • Experience conducting strategy, competitive intelligence, market research, or business analysis within the financial advisory services, intermediary, wealth management, or investment management industry.
