Process Control Engineer The Process Control Engineer provides technical leadership for the site's process automation and digital manufacturing capabilities, enabling safe, reliable, and efficient operations; In this role, you strengthen internal organizational capability, drive standardization and continuous improvement, and ensure the long-term sustainability of process control systems by connecting operational needs with automation, digitalization, and business objectives; As a trusted technical partner, you help the site maximize manufacturing performance while reducing technical risk, improving knowledge retention, and supporting the strategic evolution of process control capabilities. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the site Subject Matter Expert for process control software technologies, providing technical leadership and guidance to operations, engineering, and maintenance teams; Execute and manage process control software projects from concept through startup, including oversight of external contract resources when required; Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for control systems, process control applications, manufacturing data systems, and software-related production issues; Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing software-based process enhancements; Develop internal organizational capability through coaching, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and technical training on process control systems and best practices; Maintain and improve integrations between process equipment, automation systems, manufacturing data platforms, and enterprise applications to ensure reliable information flow; Establish, document, and enforce process control software engineering standards, change management practices, and software lifecycle procedures in alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements; Partner with site, regional, and global engineering, digital manufacturing, and operational technology teams to drive standardization, innovation, and operational excellence; Support process control cybersecurity, compliance, and audit activities through effective governance, system hardening, access management, and adherence to established standards.

WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline with at least 10 years of manufacturing experience; Demonstrated expertise in DeltaV and PLC configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and process control systems; Working knowledge of ISA-88 batch processing principles; Strong customer focus with effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PI Systems, SAP, MES or comparable manufacturing systems; Experience within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or related process industries. Domestic relocation may be available for this position No Visa sponsorship will be offered.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $96,560.00 - $144,840.00.Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
