The General Manager of Stellar reports to President, Data Centers CHVAC Americas and leads all commercial, product, operations, and people functions within the Stellar business unit. This is a full P&L general management role with accountability for revenue growth, margin expansion, product portfolio development, manufacturing readiness, and talent development. The GM will serve as the external face of Stellar to hyperscaler and colocation customers, industry partners, and the broader data center market.

What You'll Do

Business Strategy & P&L Ownership

Own the Stellar P&L with full accountability for revenue, operating income, and cash flow; relentlessly scan and proactively address situations where P&L impacts and customer opportunities are identified

Develop and execute the Stellar business strategy - including market segmentation, product portfolio roadmap, go-to-market model, and competitive positioning - with a clear long-term vision and the agility to reprioritize as the market evolves

Lead preparation for and active participation in Monthly Operating Reviews (MOR), Annual Operating Plans (AOP), Critical Strategic Decisions (CSD), and Long-Range Plans (LRP)

Own the customer experience end-to-end - know the journey, identify unmet needs, and drive the organization to solve them proactively

Serve as the senior commercial leader for Stellar's most strategic customer relationships, including hyperscalers, colocation providers, and key OEM and channel partners

Compel connections between functions, teams, and external partners to continuously improve the customer experience and accelerate time to value

Rapidly prototype and test commercial innovations - new service models, pricing approaches, channel strategies - learning and scaling what works

Product & Innovation Leadership

Drive a disciplined product roadmap that addresses current portfolio gaps, improves existing CDU and thermal product performance, and anticipates next-generation customer requirements

Take calculated risks by experimenting quickly, learning, and scaling what's working - including evaluating build vs. buy vs. partner options for filling strategic product gaps

Represent Stellar at key industry forums, standards bodies and customer advisory sessions as a technical and strategic thought leader

Operations & Manufacturing Performance

Ensure Stellar's manufacturing operations - including plant performance and CDU production capability - are aligned to the speed, quality, and cost expectations of data center customers

Embed the Business Operating System to achieve results that are bold and sustainable by reinforcing lean enterprise behaviors across the Stellar business

Partner with supply chain on component sourcing strategy, supplier qualification, and lead time management calibrated to the compressed delivery cycles of the data center market

Participate in operational initiatives to identify and collaboratively address continuous improvement opportunities across manufacturing and field service

Talent, Culture & Enterprise Leadership

Build a competitive advantage for the enterprise through the Stellar team's talent and culture - enhancing unique-to-business capabilities in team members to execute the strategy

Attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent across the Stellar business; model intentional talent development and create clear career growth pathways within and beyond the business unit

Connect with talent within Stellar and across Trane Technologies to spotlight experiences that support career growth in the enterprise

Engage externally as an ambassador for Trane Technologies - representing the company on industry boards, customer advisory councils, and with external partners to promote Trane as a destination for the best talent in data centers

What We're Looking For

Experience in data center infrastructure, thermal management, liquid cooling, HVAC, or closely adjacent industrial markets

Familiarity with hyperscaler or colocation customer procurement and specification processes

Knowledge of data center market standards and ecosystem: ASHRAE TC 9.9, Open Compute Project (OCP), ETSI

12+ years of progressive leadership experience, including demonstrated P&L ownership in a product or business unit general management role

Proven track record of growing a business - through new markets, new products, or competitive share gain - in an industrial, commercial equipment, or technology-adjacent environment

Deep cross-functional fluency: able to lead and integrate commercial, product, engineering, operations, and finance functions simultaneously

Financial astuteness - understands how to connect operating decisions to P&L and cash flow outcomes; experienced in AOP, MOR, and strategic planning processes

Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams; intentional about talent development and retention

Comfortable operating with speed and ambiguity in a fast-growing, high-priority business

Why Trane Technologies - Why Stellar

Lead one of the most strategically important businesses in Trane Technologies - at the convergence of AI infrastructure growth and sustainable thermal innovation

Build something: Stellar is an entrepreneurial mandate backed by a global industrial enterprise with 100 years of engineering and manufacturing excellence

Compete in a market that is growing faster than almost any other segment in the industrial world, with customers who are investing at scale and need a partner who can keep up
