Job description

Job Summary:
The Sport Programs Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning, coordinating and assessment of a comprehensive Intramural Sports Program. Responsibilities include planning, assessing, and managing the day-to-day operations of all Intramural activities, provide personnel management and training of approximately 40 student staff, and serve as an advisor for select sport clubs within the Sport Club Program. The Coordinator works collaboratively with department colleagues to facilitate event operations and logistics within the Campus Recreation Department, Division of Student Affairs, and throughout the University to benefit students. In addition, the coordinator is committed to promoting a positive, friendly work environment that encourages, enhances and demonstrates collaboration, teamwork and professionalism among staff, students and patrons on a daily basis. Some evening and weekend supervisory and training hours will be required.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in recreation administration, sport management or related field.
1-2 years of work experience in a recreation or sport based environment.
Possess a current CPR, AED, and first aid certification or ability to obtain.
Ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, customer service, team building, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of intramural sports rules and officiating mechanics.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Recreation Administration, Sport Management, or a related field.
3-4 years of experience in intramural and/or club sports programming in higher education.
Two-year graduate assistantship in intramural and/or club sports.
Proven expertise in sports officiating with a strong background in rule enforcement.
Familiarity with intramural sports scheduling software (e.g., IMLeagues).
Direct personnel management experience, including hiring, training, and evaluating student staff.
