Network Engineer

Principal Duties:

Core Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • RF Principles: Possess a profound understanding of RF propagation, antenna theory, and cutting-edge wireless technologies (4G, 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi).
  • Surveying Tools: Expertise in utilizing advanced spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, TEMS, and industry-leading survey software (Ekahau, Acrylic,) for comprehensive site surveys and in-depth data analysis.
  • Design Software: Proficient in leveraging RF modeling and simulation software (Visio, and AutoCAD to drive innovative solutions.
  • Network Design: Proven ability to strategically design networks for data, voice, and RTLS, while optimizing and troubleshooting RF systems to ensure exceptional coverage and capacity.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field, providing a solid foundation for technical expertise.
  • Experience: Over 5 years of hands-on experience in RF survey Engineering, with a substantial emphasis on field surveying in complex hospital and office environments, coupled with design proficiency and project leadership.
  • Certifications: Highly regarded certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or CWNP (Certified Wireless Network Professional) strongly preferred.

Senior-Level Responsibilities & Soft Skills

  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to effectively manage survey teams, oversee project lifecycles, and foster collaboration with construction and IT teams to deliver outstanding results.
  • Documentation: Skilled in producing meticulous reports, comprehensive design documents, and precise technical specifications that drive project success.
  • Problem-Solving: Equipped with exceptional analytical skills to tackle and resolve intricate RF challenges in demanding environments, ensuring seamless operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Provides initial design, implementation, optimization, administration, and technical documentation for all enterprise network systems with minimal supervision. Oversees daily operations of systems support functions and personnel. Engineers solutions for vastly complex problems that generally require in-depth analysis and creative thinking. Proactively Identifies errors that are often difficult to detect and performs root cause analysis in finding resolution to network systems failures or faults. Responsible for managing major projects and IT functions that impact multiple departments/branches of the organization and the availability of mission-critical IT services. Assists with the research, selection, development, and integration of new technologies to meet the goals and objectives of the organization.

General Tasks and Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Plans, designs, configures, installs, implements, tests, integrates, maintains and supports enterprise-level networks
  • Provide technical oversight and support for the availability, optimization, performance and capacity reviews of network services, troubleshooting of various enterprise network technologies including but not limited to LAN, WLAN, WAN, SWAN, Network Load balancers, VIPs BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VPN, WAP, NAC, NAT, SNMP, QoS, VLANs, ACLs, TACACS, and RADIUS.
  • Leads small-scale network projects
  • Provide technical oversight and support for the availability of network services, including design, implementation, administration, support and optimization of enterprise internetworking devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, security devices, and all supporting network fabric.
  • Provide technical oversight and support for the availability of network services, including design, implementation, administration and optimization of an enterprise IP telephony network including voice gateways, VoIP call control systems, call queue control systems, auto attendant systems, VOIP systems and IP phones.
  • Provide technical oversight and support for the availability of network services, including design, implementation, administration, support, troubleshooting and optimization of enterprise network management and monitoring utilities.
  • Responsible for the installation and configuration of devices to standard configuration standard.
  • Design and implementation of disaster recovery plans and disaster recovery quality assurance tests for the network infrastructure to ensure sustainability of business continuity operation and service availability.
  • Work with internal business units and vendors to effectively engineer and implement network infrastructure modifications that further support the strategic initiatives of the organization.
  • Actively and quickly resolve incident and request tickets and for problem resolution.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations audit in all facets for support and design implementation.
  • Assist with training of junior personnel engineers.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned for business sustainability.

Preferred Qualifications for The Job:

CERTIFICATION(S)/NYS LICENSE(S):

  • CCNP or equivalent certification or experience
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) certification, required

Educational Level:

  • Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems, and applications.
  • Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).
  • Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.
  • Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or
  • A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

Years of Experience:

  • Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems, and applications.
  • Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).
