Job Summary
The Dominion Energy, Southeast Energy Group, Radio Networking Team is seeking a qualified RF Technician in our Charleston area location. The qualified candidate will be responsible for safely installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Two-Way Voice and Data Communication Systems, including both Digital and Analog Voice Radio, SCADA, VoIP Networks and Microwave. A successful candidate will often work independently, supporting day-to-day operations, which may include being called out after hours. Technicians may also be required to assist out-of-town storm restoration efforts to provide crews with radio communications.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):
5+ years of experience in two-way radio or related telecommunications field
Knowledge of IP Networks as related to Radio over IP and/or Voice over IP
Proficient in Radio and Repeater Programming
Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Proficient use of commonly used test equipment such as, but not limited to, Signal Analyzers, Watt Meters, Tracking Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Volt-Ohm Meters, and Antennas Sweep Gear
A working knowledge of Antenna Systems and the ability to tune and align Combiners and Duplexers
Ability to interpret Schematics and Block Diagrams
A clean and valid driver's license
Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
Able to perform basic troubleshooting on third party network circuits and equipment

Required degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree):
