Job description

Sigma Defense is seeking a Technical Writer who can can convey information pertaining to our developed systems and procedures in a simple and concise manner for our customers. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with a strong interest in technology and a willingness to interact with subject matter experts across a variety of disciplines.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.
  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a writing or science related field of study.
  • Can substitute four or more years of experience as an effective technical writer for college degree.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

  • Research, outline, write, and edit content while working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage.
  • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards allowing for easy data migration.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation.

Salary Range: $55,000- $90,000 annually.
