Summary

Drive product quality and operational excellence across our business as a Specification Coordinator. In this role, you will manage and maintain product specifications and critical master data to support new product launches, quality initiatives, and ongoing production requirements. You will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Research & Development, Production, Supply Planning, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant product information throughout the organization. By leveraging systems such as Optiva and SAP, you will help drive efficiency, support customer requirements, and ensure seamless communication across the business. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented, highly organized professional who excels at managing multiple priorities, collaborating with diverse teams, and delivering results in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

This position has a target wage of $20 - $30 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all products have written requirements in accordance with QIP utilizing Optiva.
  • Gather information for revisions and new specifications, initiate approval process, and provide access to copies of specifications to appropriate associates in a timely and organized manner.
  • Keep several different projects open and manage to meet Marketing, Sales, and Production deadlines.
  • Prioritize project work and negotiate deadlines based on importance of projects such as new product introduction, costsaving measures, and quality improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of associates.
  • Communicate completed projects to Production, Supply Planning, Distribution, Accounting, Marketing, Research and Development, Corporate Purchasing, and Sales associates.
  • Ensure all products are set up in the Specifications Department document management system (Optiva).
  • Maintain accurate product information on the Perdue Intranet and provide support to online users of the system.
  • Update specification master files with current specifications, previous revisions, and all correspondence related to the product to establish an archive of product information.
  • Establish and maintain product information in the material master of SAP.
  • Establish and maintain information in the product code master list.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of exposure to various Perdue products and plant processes.
  • Strong communication, organization, math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Technical education for the use of various computer programs.
  • Computer experience.
  • Familiarity with Outlook and Excel applications.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Typing speed of 60 wpm.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Some college education.
  • Knowledge of Optiva or other PLM software.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
  • Occasionally travel to other Perdue plants via auto or plane.
  • Ability to work in a processing plant environment as required.
