SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Primary Purpose:
Will assist the Special Programs Department with clerical aspects of the special education IEP/504 process and clerical tasks related to aspects of state assessments, school based assessments and testing, as required. The Case Management Personnel will assist the Special Programs staff to ensure that the school remains in compliance with federal; state and local regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Prior experience in a school setting is a plus

Experience:
  • Proficient word processing and file maintenance skills
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to use personal computers and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing. Knowledge of basic account principles
  • One to three years secretarial experience, preferably in public education environment
  • Excellent typing, written and oral communication skills required
  • Prior experience with face to face and telephone client or customer service preferred
  • Experience with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Complete data entry tasks of IEP/ARD information into all necessary systems; ensure IEPs accuracy and completion by proof reading, editing and review that all required sections have been completed.
  2. Create and send letters of Invitation for IEP meetings; ensure sufficient copies of routing documents are available for meetings; copy and mail materials before and after IEP meetings; file IEP documents as needed.
  3. Remind parents of attendance of meetings, if necessary
  4. Assist with coordinating scheduled meetings and maintain meeting calendars
  5. Assist with mandated notifications to parents regarding upcoming testing
  6. Conduct random file audits as assigned
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Special Programs Director

None.
