Familiarity with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, terminology databases, and industry-specific software is typically required. Spanish translators often work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to clarify terminology, context, and industry-specific concepts in documents. This collaboration may involve regular meetings, email correspondence, or reviewing glossaries to ensure the translated materials are both linguistically accurate and contextually appropriate. Effective communication with SMEs helps translators maintain the intended meaning and tone, especially when handling technical, legal, or medical texts. Building strong relationships with these experts is key to consistently delivering high-quality translations.
