Located in the heart of Hudson Yards, Mercado Little Spain is a first-of-its-kind Spanish food hall and culinary destination created by Chef José Andrés and brothers Ferran and Albert Adrià. Position Summary

José Andrés Group is seeking a strategic, creative, and highly collaborative Local Store Marketing Manager to lead marketing efforts for Mercado Little Spain in New York City.


Reporting to the Senior Director of Local Store Marketing, this individual will be responsible for driving awareness, guest engagement, traffic, event attendance, and revenue through integrated marketing initiatives, community partnerships, local outreach, and experiential programming.


This role serves as the dedicated marketing lead for Mercado Little Spain, partnering closely with Operations, Events, PR, Creative, Retail, and Sales teams to elevate the property's position as one of New York City's premier culinary and cultural destinations.

The ideal candidate understands the New York hospitality landscape, possesses strong community-building skills, and thrives in fast-paced environments where creativity, execution, and relationship-building are equally important.


Key Responsibilities

Local Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Serve as the dedicated marketing lead for Mercado Little Spain, driving local awareness and engagement across restaurants, bars, retail, events, and cultural programming.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media, influencers, concierges, tourism partners, neighborhood organizations, cultural institutions, luxury residential properties, and business communities.
  • Identify and execute strategic partnerships that increase visitation, awareness, and guest acquisition.
  • Establish Mercado Little Spain as a leading culinary, cultural, and experiential destination within New York City.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on the NYC hospitality, tourism, food, retail, and cultural landscape to identify emerging opportunities and trends.
  • Regularly spend time on property engaging with guests, operators, and partners to better understand audience behavior and business opportunities.

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns supporting seasonal programming, restaurant promotions, retail initiatives, cultural events, and business priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with José Andrés Group's centralized marketing team to align social media, email marketing, content creation, paid media, and storytelling efforts.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and partners including PR, creative, media, influencer, and content production agencies.
  • Ensure all marketing initiatives align with Mercado Little Spain's brand identity and José Andrés Group standards.
  • Oversee campaign calendars, timelines, approvals, and stakeholder communication.
  • Support and creatively direct photo shoots, video shoots, and content creation efforts.

Events, Partnerships & Revenue Growth

  • Partner closely with Events, Sales, and Operations teams to support private dining, large-scale events, ticketed experiences, cultural programming, and retail initiatives.
  • Develop marketing strategies that support revenue growth across restaurants, retail, events, and experiential offerings.
  • Collaborate on signature activations, chef collaborations, festivals, brand partnerships, and cultural celebrations.
  • Support influencer visits, media experiences, VIP hosting opportunities, and strategic partnership activations.
  • Help drive awareness of Mercado Little Spain's event spaces and private dining capabilities.

Digital & Performance Marketing

  • Monitor performance across digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, paid media, web traffic, and promotional campaigns.
  • Analyze campaign performance and leverage insights to optimize future initiatives.
  • Ensure digital content reflects the energy, authenticity, and cultural relevance of the Mercado Little Spain brand.
  • Stay current on emerging digital platforms, hospitality marketing trends, and consumer behavior.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Operations

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Marketing, Operations, Events, Retail, and external partners.
  • Support menu launches, retail product promotions, guest experience initiatives, and storytelling opportunities.
  • Manage local marketing budgets, vendor relationships, invoices, and reporting.
  • Ensure seamless communication and execution across multiple stakeholders and departments.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of experience in hospitality, restaurant, retail, lifestyle, tourism, experiential, entertainment, or cultural marketing.
  • Strong understanding of the New York City hospitality, tourism, food, retail, and cultural landscape.
  • Proven success developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns, events, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Experience managing external agencies across PR, paid media, content creation, influencer marketing, and creative services.
  • Experience supporting destination venues, food halls, hotels, entertainment venues, cultural institutions, or multi-concept hospitality businesses strongly preferred.
  • Existing relationships within New York media, hospitality, tourism, influencer, and cultural communities highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, and solutions-oriented.
