Job Summary 
The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing massage services to members and guests within the club, delivering a personalized and rejuvenating experience. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of various massage techniques and the ability to skillfully manipulate the body's soft tissues and joints through appropriate pressure application. The Massage Therapist will prioritize client comfort and satisfaction, ensuring that each session is tailored to individual needs. With a focus on high-quality service and attention to detail, this role will contribute to creating a tranquil and relaxing environment that enhances the overall wellness experience for our members. 
Reporting Structure 
         Reports to the Spa Manager or Sports Club Director 
Day to Day
    Perform a variety of massage techniques, including deep tissue, hot stone, sports, tailored to member/guest needs. 
    Provide consultations to members/guests to understand their needs, preferences, and recommend appropriate aftercare. 
    Ensure a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for all members/guests, delivering outstanding customer service. 
    Keep accurate records of member/guest preferences and history for future reference. 
    Stay updated on industry trends, continuing education, and participate in regular training and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge. 
    Attend regular training sessions and meetings to maintain skills and knowledge of industry trends. 
    Promote spa services and specials through active participation in marketing and member engagement efforts. 
    Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment by following spa hygiene standards and preparing treatment rooms between appointments. 
    Follow health, safety, and sanitation protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of both clients and staff. 
    Collaborate with other spa team members to provide a seamless and holistic wellness experience for club members and guests. 
Additional Duties 
    Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.   
    Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.  
    Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff. 
    Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same. 
    Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role. 
    Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations. 
    Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team's success. 
About You
Required 
    A high school diploma or equivalent. 
    Completion of a recognized massage therapy program from an accredited institution, which usually includes both theoretical and practical training. 
    A valid state massage therapy license or certification, as per local regulations. 
    A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a resort, country club, or high-end spa. 
    A minimum of 1 year of experience in various massage techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, or therapeutic massage. 
    Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, particularly in relation to soft tissue manipulation. 
Preferred 
    Excellent communication skills to effectively assess clients' needs and preferences. 
    A strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment for clients. 
    Good physical stamina and strength to perform massages over extended periods. 
    A caring and empathetic demeanor to foster trust and comfort with clients. 
Physical Requirements 
    Frequent sitting, standing, massaging, and walking. 
    Occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, chemicals, or gases. 
    Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending. 
    Talking, hearing, and seeing. 
Primary Tools/Equipment 
    Hands 
    Massage table 
    Oils/lotions 
    Linens/towels 
    Massage tools such as headrest, pillow, music, etc.  
Work Schedule  
    Adherence to attendance requirements as outlined in the weekly schedule. 
    Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet position deadlines. 
    Availability to work on weekends and/or holidays as required.
