Description:

Under the supervision of a Project Manager and the Solar Field Superintendent, the Solar Field Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of employees to perform daily installations of various solar systems and ensure that proper resources are in place for timely completion of the project/projects assigned to them.

Tasks / Duties / Responsibilities

  • Assures compliance with the company and customer safety policies and practices
  • Takes responsibility for his crew’s performance as it relates to company goals, safety audits, and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Reviews and interprets all specifications, drawings and project documents to ensure that the work is built to the appropriate standards and to the satisfaction of the customer
  • Plans and manages the installations of all electrical and specialized electrical systems
  • Monitors and ensures that the quality of work on their job is accurate & complete.
  • Communicates corrective and/or disciplinary situations to the construction supervisor.
  • Maintains efficient productivity and monitors the amount of work performed per time spent
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates work for the project
  • Effectively manages time and schedules to meet required deadlines
  • Conducts meetings with employees to discuss production goals, performance feedback, safety requirements and jobsite related hazards etc.
  • Comfortable working on various roofs. (Pitched / Flat)
  • Available to travel (stay out of town) for projects. (Working Monday-Thursday, anywhere from 1.5 hours – 4.5 hours from shop)
  • Assures compliance with NEC and local codes
  • Responsible for the safeguards of company equipment, tools and vehicles as well as notification and identifying maintenance needs or issues.
  • Complies with company’s core values and appearance to promote a positive company image and culture
  • Available and willing to work off hours or extra hours as the project and/or other projects requires
  • Ensures that good housekeeping practices are maintained on their job sites
  • Provides feedback and works with the construction supervisor for prefab assembly design and ideas
  • Follows through with Job extras documentation and produces accurate As-Builds
  • Orders and manages daily materials
  • Available and willing to respond, correct and answer specific project questions after hours via phone or email
  • Tracks and logs project issues, daily reports, safety, manpower and other items as required
