Job description

Solar Field Tech

We are seeking a dynamic Solar Field Tech for New Construction Solar projects. If are an experienced Solar Field Tech professional with a passion for the solar industry please apply today!

Description:

Commission PV with battery systems within one week after system has been installed, trouble shoot system to successfully commission and operate system as needed. Perform customer service appointments on time and communicate to customer of status of their system as needed. Conduct solar inspection with AHJ and or utility when required including being able to set up ladder for roof and or attic per inspector request. Provide interconnection team needed documents (copies of signed off permits) to submit for utility interconnection applications. Aid Solar Superintendent as needed and communicate with that Superintendent daily with activity update.

Responsibilities:

  • Track solar and battery installations and schedule yourself to commission system within 1 week of installation
  • Update all commissioning with required documents/photos
  • Provide weekly report on number attempted commissioning along with number of successful commissions
  • Provide feedback to Superintendent and crew leads on issue found with installations as they come up
  • Communicate with Superintendent daily with activity updates
  • Maintain truck stock for Field Tech vehicle and provide warehouse timely request to keep truck stock to mid/max level
  • Track and update installation of cell modems when they are not installed by installation crew
  • Turn in timecard to Superintendent on time and with accurate input

Skills:

  • Experience is residential roof top solar installation
  • Experience in Tesla, Enphase, Franklin and LG battery storage systems
  • Must be organized to manage daily activities and travel routes
  • Experience working and troubleshooting solar product as well as installations
  • Ability to conduct quality audit of solar installation
  • Electrical and safety experience
  • Communication skills with internal and external customers
  • Monitor your time to ensure that all daily activities are met

Qualifications:

  • Enphase/SolarEdge knowledge
  • Tesla certification for battery storage systems (Enphase, Franklin, LG)
  • Ability to set up extension ladder on single story or two-story home and work on roof top to troubleshoot as needed
  • Able to read and understand solar layouts and SLDs
  • Ability to be self-driven and work independently
  • Knowledge of new home construction
