Field Manager – Solar Service OperationsRole Overview

We are seeking an experienced Field Manager to lead and support Solar Service Technicians in a hands-on field operations role. This position is responsible for managing service teams, maintaining quality and safety standards, and overseeing the inspection, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of existing solar systems. The ideal candidate has proven leadership experience within solar service operations and thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven environment.

Required Qualifications & Responsibilities (Must Haves)
  • Proven experience managing field service teams within the solar industry, specifically in a Solar Service Technician Manager or Field Operations leadership role
  • Oversee and perform inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of previously installed solar PV systems and all associated equipment, in compliance with national codes and local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company procedures
  • Review and interpret plans, specifications, technical documents, contracts, and job-related documentation to ensure accurate diagnosis, repair execution, and compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, quality assurance requirements, and project specifications
  • Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently throughout the duration of service contracts
  • Provide complete and accurate daily documentation, including logs, photos, reports, and job updates using a company-issued mobile phone or tablet
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves)
  • Serve as a professional point of contact with potential, current, and past customers by providing product knowledge, explaining scope of work, and addressing technical or service-related questions
  • Maintain open, consistent communication with supervisory staff and field teams regarding job status, performance expectations, and operational priorities
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards, company policies, and applicable regulations for all employees, subcontractors, clients, and visitors

Requirements

Experience & Certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Solar Industry OR 3 years of experience in the Electrical field
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
Technical & Professional Skills
  • Ability to work independently in a diverse field environment with minimal supervision
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with varying levels of complexity
  • Proficient with company-issued laptops for on-site diagnostics and equipment repairs, as well as accessing web-based monitoring platforms for remote system evaluation
  • Prior experience or familiarity with SCADA systems and machine language is a plus
  • Strong understanding of construction site practices, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar and documentation accuracy
  • Demonstrated professionalism, organization, ethical decision-making, and sound judgment

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
