This position is in Santa Rosa, in the heart of California’s beautiful wine country, is the corporate headquarters of Keysight, home to many product development R&D labs.  The Digital and Photonics R&D team in Santa Rosa develops and produces the world’s highest performance oscilloscopes.

You will work in close collaboration with a diverse multi-functional team of engineers, scientists, and researchers around the globe to meet the communications electronics measurement challenges of today and tomorrow.  Giving customers insight into developing digital communication and Internet infrastructure signals and devices is our focus.  Keysight is committed to providing innovative measurement solutions that enable our customers and partners to deliver the products and services that make a measurable difference in the lives of people everywhere.


Responsibilities

Learn & run the existing sampling scope codebase build & release process, working with current build master.  Maintain the current build environment, responding to required SW security changes, and keeping the build toolchain up and running.  Analyze and propose targeted transitions toward a new DevOps build/release toolchain where team agrees this makes sense to improve SW productivity and toolchain stability/security.

Be a key contributor to bring sampling scope codebase into European Union Cyber Resilience Act (EU CRA) compliance, working with sampling scope codebase team to maintain secure SW development and deployment practices

  • Organize the triage and track resolution of SAST scan discovered issues, incorporating them into regular prioritization with issues found via team & customer use, Sprint QA and release QA stages.
  • Organize the triage and track resolution of threat modelling analysis discovered issues, incorporating them into regular prioritization with issues found via team & customer use, Sprint QA and release QA stages.
  • Work with the codebase product software Security Champion to identify potential EU CRA software bill of materials components (third party, common KTO, etc.) that become issues in meeting EU CRA compliance required deadlines

Learn & improve the existing sampling scope software QA process, particularly focusing on development & implementation of improved automated test coverage.

  • Learn and participate in the codebase quality process from initial triage of incoming issues to verification and closure in each sprint and release cycle
  • Take on targeting, running, and analyzing nightly regression test beds
  • Analyze current automated QA coverage and identify gaps. Propose and implement automated processes, test scripts, and codebase code to create coverage for those gaps.
  • Learn about sampling scope measurements and factors influencing measurement result throughput.  Learn about existing speed benchmarks & consider possible additions to improved measurement throughput.

This position requires significant software development knowledge with a focus on software quality practices and package deployment methods.   Relevant technical background of a successful candidate likely to be in software engineering with significant QA experience.   

Open to individuals with a track record of leading software quality and deployment.  Educational background most likely includes a BS or MS degree in a software engineering including strong skills in software development with 2-4 years of related QA/SW toolchain/SW security experience to draw upon.

  • One or more examples of software quality implementation leadership.  Ability to discuss QA coverage, multiple QA tools and practices
  • Demonstrated success in leading software development projects with skill in backlog management, sprint planning, and progress tracking.  Knowledge of SW quality practices.  Evidence of excellent leadership of triage & troubleshooting, and issue resolution skills.  
  • Enjoy working with a diverse multi-functional team to deliver prototype designs into volume manufacturing on a global scale.
  • Demonstration of excellent communication and teamwork skills, enjoying working with a diverse and global team
  • Strong problem-solving and quantitative data analysis skills.  
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and lead a team through change.
  • Excellent time management, and ability to work independently in supportive team of available mentors
  • Significant pluses:
