Description
FII USA, Inc., a Foxconn Technology Group Company, is seeking a Central Quality Manager to lead quality management systems and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. Once a part of the team, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks within the Supporting Quality Department in a production environment and have the opportunity to display critical thinking skills to expand your career in Smart Manufacturing.
The Central Quality Manager will oversee quality standards, manage cross-functional quality initiatives, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements while assisting this Supporting Quality Department as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality requirements for electronics manufacturing
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis focused on SMT processes
  • Oversee internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and corrective action follow-up
  • Monitor and analyze key quality metrics including first pass yield (FPY), defects per million opportunities (DPMO), scrap, and customer returns
  • Develop and implement quality KPIs and dashboards specific to SMT, PCBA, and test processes
  • Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Customer Quality teams to resolve quality issues
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality documentation for SMT lines
  • Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving activities related to solder defects, component placement, and test failures
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) processes including DFM/DFA reviews, process validation, and pilot builds
  • Review and approve control plans, PFMEA, and process validation activities for SMT and assembly processes
  • Oversee quality performance of SMT processes including stencil printing, pick-and-place, reflow, AOI, ICT, and functional testing
  • Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution with effective corrective actions
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customer quality escalations, audits, and technical discussions
  • Oversee supplier quality performance for electronic components and PCB suppliers in partnership with Supply Chain
  • Drive incoming, in-process, and final inspection strategies including AOI, X-ray inspection, and visual inspection standards
  • Implement and maintain statistical process control (SPC) and data-driven decision-making across SMT lines
  • Train and mentor team members on IPC standards, quality tools, and electronics manufacturing best practices
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
  • Identify risks within SMT processes and implement controls to prevent defects such as solder bridges, tombstoning, and insufficient solder
  • Support digitalization and automation of quality systems including MES and traceability systems
  • Partner with leadership to define quality strategy and long-term improvement roadmap for electronics manufacturing
  • Lead containment activities and rapid response efforts for major quality issues impacting production or customers
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in quality management within SMT, PCBA, or electronics manufacturing environment preferred; 5+ years in quality management required
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO standards
  • Experience with SMT processes including stencil printing, pick-and-place, reflow, AOI, ICT, and functional testing
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven experience leading audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
  • Experience with PFMEA, control plans, and process validation preferred
  • Knowledge of IPC standards such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
