Position Summary

The Manager, Quality Assurance leads the QA function within DMA's software development practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions. This role is responsible for developing and executing testing strategies, managing QA resources, and driving continuous improvement in testing methodologies and automation. The manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to align QA efforts with business goals and product delivery timelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee QA operations and software delivery quality across multiple projects.

  • Develop and execute test strategies, plans, estimates, and schedules for new features and releases.

  • Lead and mentor QA team members to achieve optimal performance and career growth.

  • Manage talent acquisition and onboarding for the QA team.

  • Champion department and corporate initiatives related to quality and process improvement.

  • Collaborate with product owners, subject matter experts, and clients to define testable functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Coordinate and participate in sprint planning, release readiness, and regression testing cycles.

  • Define and implement automated unit and regression test cases.

  • Ensure proper documentation of QA processes, test plans, and results.

  • Facilitate communication across distributed teams to optimize resource utilization.

  • Provide regular quality status reports to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate leadership abilities to our clients with the deployment of software upgrades, enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based on release schedules.

  • Divide tasks into quantifiable subtasks, and reasonably predict the effort to complete the tasks.

  • Ensure compliance with security, performance, and quality standards.

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate technical and operational risks.

  • Manage third party vendors and suppliers.

  • Management and oversight of direct reports.

  • Track actual hours against estimates, anticipate, and communicate deviations from original estimates to all stakeholders.

  • Work with team members to ensure that software releases meet the defined security and quality assurance standards.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in software QA and/or development.

  • Minimum of 3+ years in a QA leadership or management role.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing testing strategies and plans.

  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices.

  • Technical proficiency in SQL, relational databases, distributed systems, and web-based application architecture.

  • Experience with automated testing tools, CI/CD pipelines, and batch processing.

  • Experience with agile methodologies, SCRUM, the SDLC, and DevOps practices.

  • Proficiency in tools such as Chrome, GitLab, Atlassian Jira, and automation frameworks.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Ability to work under tight project timelines and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to delegate effectively and motivate others.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong listening skills; trustworthy and dependable.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week
