Overview


Client First Technologies is currently seeking a Software Licensing Specialist in support of our government customer's enterprise software licensing and vendor management program. The Licensing Specialist manages the full lifecycle of software licenses, maintains license portals and entitlement inventories, and supports cost savings analysis to ensure accurate, well-governed management of the enterprise software portfolio.


This is a full-time, remote position, with occasional requirements to be readily available and physically present at the customer facility in Rockville, MD.

Requirements:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of software licenses, including ordering, tracking, and maintenance
  • Maintain and administer software license portals
  • Ensure accuracy of license inventories and entitlements
  • Develop cost savings reports comparing negotiated pricing against GSA schedules and vendor list prices
  • Support consolidation of licenses and optimization strategies to reduce waste and duplication
  • Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to resolve licensing issues
  • Coordinate with the software asset management team to track license usage and support inventory accuracy
  • Support data calls, surveys, forecasts, and notifications related to software licensing activities
  • Support contract level reporting and dashboarding efforts
  • Maintain and administer the program's licensing management application, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and usability


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software license management or software asset management
  • Experience administering software license portals and entitlement management tools
  • Familiarity with GSA schedule pricing and vendor list price comparisons
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience developing cost savings and optimization reports
  • Experience coordinating with vendors to resolve licensing and entitlement issues
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required background investigation appropriate to the position


Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience designing and building dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and connecting to multiple data sources preferred
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) for low-code/no-code solution development, including experience with data collection and storage design (e.g., SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL) preferred
  • ITIL certification or software asset management certification preferred


Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required


Required Clearances and Screenings

  • This position is subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility for a position designated with Low Risk sensitivity. Candidates with a current Tier 1/Low Risk Background Investigation or equivalent are preferred.
