We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Software Asset Manager to join our team. As a Software Asset Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of software assets within our organization. Your primary focus will be on effectively managing software licenses, contracts, compliance, and optimizing software usage. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, procurement, legal, and finance, to ensure proper software asset management practices are followed.
Responsibilities:
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Develop and implement software asset management policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with software licenses and legal requirements.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Maintain an accurate inventory of all software assets, including licenses, contracts, and entitlements.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Track and manage software license agreements, ensuring renewals and maintenance are properly executed.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Conduct regular audits to verify software installations and license compliance.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Collaborate with IT and procurement teams to plan and optimize software purchases and licensing agreements.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Monitor and report on software usage and metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Ensure software assets are properly tracked, recorded, and accounted for in asset management systems or tools.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Work with vendors and negotiate software contracts and licensing agreements to obtain favorable terms and conditions.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Stay up-to-date with software licensing models, industry trends, and changes in software license agreements.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on software asset management practices and compliance.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Assist in resolving software license compliance issues, disputes, and audits.
Qualifications:
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Proven experience in software asset management or related roles.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Strong understanding of software licensing models, contracts, and compliance requirements.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Familiarity with software asset management tools and systems.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Knowledge of ITIL or other asset management frameworks is a plus.
