Position: IT Asset Manager
Location: Alexandria, VA
Work Environment: On-site
Clearance Required: Secret
Status: Funded
Info Gain Consulting is currently seeking an exceptional IT Asset Manager to join our team and provide invaluable support to the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG) Information Technology Support Services contract.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must have a Secret clearance and possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position's security clearance requirements.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform all duties related to the tracking and management of unclassified and classified Information Technology (IT) software and hardware or equipment, and associated licenses, throughout the IT asset lifecycle
  • Maintain technical and administrative control of the functional and physical characteristics of technology assets
  • Provide continuous visibility into the types and numbers of IT assets throughout the enterprise
  • Assist with establishing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide IT asset management approaches, methodologies, plans, processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in support of this objective, and reporting materials to support the development and execution of the DoD OIG Portfolio Management Program
  • Coordinate with DoD OIG staff as required to discover and document the IT assets on the network for accurate and reliable software and hardware inventory tracking
  • Forecast where and when IT infrastructure and software investments shall occur and provide recommendations to the DoD OIG Enterprise Architect (EA) and Information Technology Business Operations (ITBO) Division Chiefs
  • Provide advice to the DoD OIG Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB) or in other asset management related meetings on the impact of, dependencies to, and alternatives of changes made to applications and services within the DoD OIG network
  • Manage IT assets on both Unclassified (NIPRNet) and Classified (SIPRNet) networks
  • Track hardware and software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive IT asset inventories and databases
  • Conduct regular audits of IT assets to ensure accuracy and accountability
  • Prepare asset management reports and presentations for management review
  • Coordinate with procurement and finance teams regarding IT asset acquisitions and disposals
  • Ensure compliance with DoD and federal IT asset management policies and regulations
  • Travel may be required within the Continental United States (CONUS) and the National Capital Region (NCR)
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in IT asset management, IT inventory management, or related field
  • Experience tracking and managing IT software and hardware or equipment throughout the asset lifecycle
  • Experience with IT asset management methodologies, processes, and best practices
  • Experience maintaining IT asset inventories and databases for both unclassified and classified systems
  • Experience coordinating with technical staff to discover and document IT assets on networks
  • Experience forecasting IT infrastructure and software investment needs
  • Experience providing recommendations to technical review boards or change control boards
  • Experience with software and hardware license management and compliance
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with IT asset management software and database tools
  • Experience preparing reports and presentations for management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • United States Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal government customers
  • Experience managing IT assets in classified environments
  • Experience with enterprise IT asset management tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Track-It, or similar platforms
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification or higher, particularly in Asset and Configuration Management
  • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or similar asset management certification
  • Experience with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) implementation and maintenance
  • Experience with DoD IT asset management policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and DoD OIG standards and regulations
  • Experience with IT portfolio management and investment planning
  • Experience supporting Engineering Review Boards (ERB) and Change Control Boards (CCB)
  • Knowledge of software licensing compliance and audit processes
  • Experience with IT asset disposal and sanitization procedures in accordance with DoD standards
