What does a successful IBM I Software Development - Tech Lead do at Fiserv?

A successful IBM i Software Development - Tech Lead at Fiserv drives the design and delivery of robust IBM iSeries (AS/400) solutions that meet client and business objectives. They translate complex requirements into scalable architectures, enforce high code quality, and mitigate technical risk. They lead and mentor crossfunctional teams, champion modern practices like Open Banking and microservices where appropriate, and ensure solutions are delivered on time and to specification.

What you will do:

  • Lead design, development, testing, and implementation of IBM iSeries applications to support Fiserv business objectives.

  • Translate client and stakeholder requirements into technical specifications and estimates.

  • Write, review and maintain highquality RPGLE/CLLE, RPG/CL and DB2/SQL code; drive peer code reviews and CI practices.

  • Mentor and coach developers, providing technical guidance and promoting best practices.

  • Identify, track and mitigate technical risks while collaborating with crossfunctional teams (Agile/Scrum).

What you will need to have:

  • 8+ years of enterprise software development experience.

  • 5+ years of handson IBM iSeries (AS/400) development (RPG, RPGLE, CL, CLLE, FreeFormat RPG).

  • 3+ years working with DB2/SQL and IBM RDi in production environments.

  • 2+ years leading technical teams or mentoring developers and performing effort estimation.

What would be nice to have:

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services or core banking environments.

  • 1+ project experience with Signature core solution from Fiserv.

  • 1+ exposure to Aldon (change management) or similar release/change tools.

Salary Range

$82,000.00 - $141,600.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
