Job description

RMC is seeking a Business Development Manager for a part-time position to drive growth within the SOCOM market. This role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and shaping new business opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and building a sustainable pipeline aligned to RMC's core capabilities in IT, cybersecurity, and engineering services.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the SOCOM acquisition environment and a proven ability to translate customer mission needs into actionable growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, qualify, and build a robust pipeline of SOCOM opportunities aligned to corporate growth priorities and capabilities
  • Develop and execute account and market strategies across targeted SOCOM organizations
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships with key SOCOM stakeholders, including program offices, contracting officials, and technical leaders
  • Conduct ongoing customer engagement and market research to identify mission needs, funding trends, and emerging requirements
  • Shape opportunities pre-RFP, influencing acquisition strategy, requirements, and positioning
  • Contribute to opportunity pipelines within CRM tool
  • Provide identification and engagement of strategic partners
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs and operational leadership to align solutions with customer mission needs
  • Support opportunity qualification reviews and gate processes, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities
  • Provide regular pipeline updates and market insights to executive leadership
  • Represent RMC at industry days, conferences, and customer engagements to enhance brand presence and access

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in DoD acquisition, with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of SOCOM market
  • Existing relationships within SOCOM acquisition and mission organizations strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of the SOCOM acquisition environment, contract vehicles, and funding processes
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both customers and internal stakeholders
  • Highly motivated, organized, and proactive, with the ability to operate independently in a growth-focused role
  • Security clearance is desired, not required
