    Master Control and VTR Supervisor

    Reports to: Programming Operations Manager
    Functional reporting / escalation: President of Programming, Production and Promotions
    Classification: Exempt

    General Summary

    Responsible for leading Master Control and VTR operations, ensuring continuous, reliable, and highest technical quality transmission of WAPA TV and all associated signals (WAPA América, digital channels, and distribution platforms). This role ensures flawless on-air execution, regulatory compliance, and 24/7 operational continuity and scalability.

    Responsibilities


    1. On-Air Operation and Continuity
    - Ensure uninterrupted on-air transmission
    - Supervise logs and execution
    - Monitor video, audio, captions, metadata
    2. Operations Supervision
    - Oversee ingest, playback, switching, monitoring
    - Manage playout systems and equipment
    3. Leadership
    - Lead and train team
    - Ensure 24/7 coverage
    4. Incident Management
    - Resolve technical issues in real time
    - Execute contingency plans
    5. Compliance
    - Ensure FCC compliance
    - Maintain SOPs
    6. Scalability
    - Support expansion and modernization

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field; 5+ years in Master Control; 2+ years leadership experience.

    Technical Skills

    Playout systems, video servers, routers, ATSC standards, QC workflows.

    KPIs

    On-air continuity ≥99.9%, log accuracy ≥99%, zero FCC violations.

    Physical Demands

    Work is performed 100% on-site in technical broadcast environments.
