Job description

Are you looking for hands-on experience in running a sports-focused small business? As a UTP Sports Photo Business Intern, you'll gain valuable insight into managing operations, sales, and customer service in a fast-paced event environment. This internship is an excellent opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn every aspect of a successful vendor booth, from marketing and product presentation to sales and logistics. You'll be on the front lines of generating revenue, managing customer relationships, and ensuring the smooth operation of our photo services at major sports events.

  • Panama City Beach, FL / Gulfport, MS (May 31 - July 18 th)
  • Destin, FL (May 31-July 11);
  • Gulf Shores, AL (May 31-July 18)

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage photo operations by capturing high-quality images of teams and athletes using your smartphone (must have 3+ back cameras).
- Learn the business processes of uploading and distributing products via our UTP app for real-time customer viewing.
- Drive product sales by assisting parents in selecting custom posters and other merchandise, while developing customer service and sales skills.
- Gather and manage contact information for follow-up marketing and sales purposes.
- Ensure operational efficiency by working with a team to meet daily quotas and deadlines.
- Assist in booth setup, inventory management, product display, and customer engagement to maximize sales.
Business Skills You Will Learn:
- Sales & Customer Engagement: Gain experience in face-to-face sales, upselling techniques, and relationship management. Learn how to pitch products and close sales efficiently.
- Operational Management: Understand the logistics of running a vendor booth, including setup, inventory management, staff coordination, and ensuring timely completion of all photography tasks.
- Marketing & Product Management: Learn how to present products effectively to customers, how to create compelling product displays, and how to manage follow-up communications for continued sales.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Work within a team to achieve business goals, utilizing individual strengths to manage workflow and operations.
Qualifications:
- Business-minded individuals with an interest in operations, sales, and customer service (photography experience is not required).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple aspects of the business at once.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Must own an Iphone 14 or Newer with 3+ back cameras and no visible damage to the screen or lenses.
- Physically capable of walking/standing for extended hours and lifting up to 50+ lbs.
- Confident and proactive in starting conversations with coaches, parents, and team managers to drive business relationships and sales.
- Must be able to work outdoors in high temperatures (100+ degrees) for 8-12 hours per day, 4-5 days a week.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.

Locations: Gulf Shores, AL, Destin, FL, Panama City Beach, FL (Flexibility to move between locations required. Housing can be provided if needed).
Compensation: $18 per hour + Tips + Potential Commission
