Position Summary


Vertosoft is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive SLED Contract Specialist to support the administration, compliance, and lifecycle management of State, Local, and Education (SLED) contracts and cooperative purchasing agreements. This role is responsible for managing contract activities from award through closeout, ensuring compliance with procurement requirements, maintaining accurate reporting, supporting strategic proposal efforts, and partnering with internal stakeholders to facilitate successful contract execution.


The ideal candidate has experience working within government contracting environments and possesses a strong understanding of state procurement processes, cooperative purchasing vehicles, and contract administration best practices. The selected candidate will serve as a trusted resource to internal teams while building productive relationships with customers, cooperative purchasing organizations, suppliers, and government procurement officials.

What You'll Do


Contract Administration

  • Independently administer SLED contracts, amendments, modifications, renewals, task orders, and closeouts.
  • Review contract documents to ensure compliance with state procurement requirements, cooperative purchasing agreements, and contractual obligations.
  • Interpret contract terms and identify contractual, operational, and compliance considerations.
  • Track key contract deliverables, reporting obligations, renewal schedules, and contract milestones.
  • Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready contract documentation.
  • Support onboarding and implementation of new contract vehicles and cooperative agreements.

Cooperative Contract Management

  • Administer cooperative purchasing agreements, including NASPO ValuePoint, OMNIA Partners, Sourcewell, TIPS, and similar programs.
  • Monitor reporting requirements, administrative fees, utilization reporting, and contract renewals.
  • Track supplier participation, contract utilization, and performance metrics.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding cooperative purchasing requirements and available contract vehicles.
  • Recommend process improvements that strengthen cooperative contract administration and utilization.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Apply knowledge of state procurement regulations and cooperative purchasing requirements.
  • Review contractual terms and identify potential compliance risks.
  • Recommend practical solutions to routine contractual and regulatory issues while escalating complex matters as appropriate.
  • Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and documentation requests.
  • Monitor regulatory developments impacting SLED contracts and cooperative purchasing programs.

Proposal & Contract Support

  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal to support SLED proposals, RFPs, RFQs, renewals, and contract modifications.
  • Review solicitations to identify contractual obligations and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate preparation of certifications, contractual exhibits, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with contract implementation activities following award.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Prepare and submit recurring contract and cooperative agreement reports with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate contract records within CRM and contract management systems.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure reporting accuracy and data integrity.
  • Support procurement agencies and cooperative organizations with information requests.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Operations, Leadership, suppliers, and procurement organizations to ensure compliant contract execution.
  • Build productive relationships that support successful contract administration and cooperative purchasing participation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, governance, and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in contract administration, government contracting, public sector procurement, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting State, Local, Education (SLED) contracts and/or cooperative purchasing agreements.
  • Working knowledge of state procurement processes and public sector contracting environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering cooperative purchasing programs such as NASPO ValuePoint, OMNIA Partners, Sourcewell, TIPS, or similar organizations.
  • Experience supporting contract lifecycle management, contract reporting, compliance reviews, and audits.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
  • Experience using contract lifecycle management systems.
  • Professional certifications related to government contracting or procurement (NCMA, CPCM, CFCM, NIGP, CPPO, CPPB, or similar) are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits


Compensation Range (based on total On-Target Earnings (OTE)): $90,000 – $165,000


Total on-target earnings (OTE) include base salary plus target bonus and/or commission, as applicable to the position.

The position level and compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise.
