Job description

JOB GOAL: Responsible for maintaining attendance records to meet district and state requirements while displaying integrity, high standards, quality, and accuracy.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o High School Diploma or GED
o Minimum 2 years of clerical experience (preferred)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.
o Ensures that teachers take class attendance for all periods in Skyward as described in the HPS attendance manual
o Ensures the FSP reports are accurate and free of error
o Generates required attendance reports
o Inputs required attendance information into Skyward and verifies that the records are accurate
o Verifies absences by collecting the required documentation from the absent studentโ€™s parent/guardian
o Maintains all required documentation in the campus attendance binder
o Checks with the teacher to verify attendance
o Verifies and corrects absences that have been submitted into Skyward by the teacher
o Works closely with each department when input errors occur
o Tracks and communicates consecutive student absences with the necessary staff
o Sends attendance letters, emails and communication to consistently absent studentsโ€™ parent/guardian
o Prepares a variety of required attendance documentation to submit to administration for truancy cases
o Attends and prepares a variety of required attendance documentation for the quarterly attendance review committee
o Maintains the method of instruction designation for all students in Skyward
o Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external
to the district.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software,
calculator, copy machine and telephone.
o Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
o Moderate travel is required.
