Description:

Skywalker Properties Ltd. seeks a Facilities Engineer to join the team full-time at Skywalker and Summit Ranches in Nicasio, CA. The Facilities Engineer is responsible for completing daily maintenance, repair, and operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, elevators, pumps, generators, and lighting throughout Skywalker and Big Rock Ranch.


Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Perform repairs to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, generators, UPS systems, fire pumps, sump pumps, etc.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance of all building systems according to database schedules and specifications.
  • Complete building and central plant inspections monthly and submits written conclusions to lead engineers and manager, including daily reports
  • Review systems including building management and operations management software weekly and reports findings to lead engineers.
  • Complete small hands-on special projects related to building maintenance for HVAC, pumps, plumbing, UPS systems, elevators, furnishings, and lighting systems through-out.
  • Complete infra-red scans of secondary power systems annually.
  • Compile quotes from vendors for material purchases. Coordinates approved work for contractors and reports progress and issues. Updates inventory of supplies needed for scheduled repairs and breakdowns.
  • Provide labor support to Ranch Services and event set-ups. This includes coverage of multiple-day events for engineering support which include weekends at times.
  • Provide after-hours on-call emergency support in response to facilities department related issues as scheduled.
  • Work with other department and division supervisors and managers as needed.
  • Coordinates agency inspections and reports for environmental compliance
Requirements:

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in facilities engineering
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in Building Engineering/Operations, construction.

Required Skills / Competencies:

  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform data entry and work with facilities-related software.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively within a department and outside the organization
  • Safety compliance record
  • Engineering knowledge of commercial or residential systems

Preferred Skills / Competencies:

  • Water Certifications for potable water treatment and distribution
  • CFC license for handling refrigerants.
  • Certified pool operator

Technical Skills:

  • Refrigeration skills are a plus
  • BMS programming skills a plus
  • Power distribution knowledge a plus

Physical Requirements:


Time Spent on Computer (what percent of each day?)

  • 10%, computer work to sort assignments, emails, database updates, and bms reviews
  • 5% driving between campuses and projects
