  • This position helps with all aspects of Supplier Quality Engineering which includes establishment of supplier quality metrics, processes, and procedures to strategically improve all aspects of supplier performance.
  • The Supplier Quality Engineer shall use their experience and knowledge to help determine the best methods of supplier assessment, qualification, and development to establish a reliable and consistent supplier base.
  • A successful Supplier Quality Engineer must be a problem-solver, have a strong quality & customer-focused mindset, be data driven, have the personal drive and stamina to hold suppliers accountable develop a strategy for supplier continuous improvement and be able to inculcate the Singer Vehicle Design philosophy of, "Everything is Important" with the current and future state supplier base.

What You'll Do:
  • Help execute supplier qualification/certification, assessment, monitoring supplier quality performance of current and new suppliers
  • Support Quality Engineering to identify and resolve differences that may exist between Singer internal processes and those of the supply base
  • Initiate and manage part-specific quality issue resolution through statistical process control and continuous improvement
  • Perform escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis and problem solving (8D), and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic process and product design problems for product provided by suppliers
  • Proactively support Singer's Approved Supplier Program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability
  • Use statistical process control to analyze quality data, identify systemic issues (process and part), and develop supplier specific quality initiatives and strategies to address them with key proactive quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.) and drive their implementation
  • Develop suppliers to be capable of meeting all of Singer's requirements for work transfer and process change management including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance
  • Establish incoming inspection process, procedures, and work instructions to support Singer's design parts
  • Perform supplier onsite and/or remote audits
  • Travel in support of supplier issues

Who We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • At least one to three years of experience in a similar role; more if hired into a more senior-level
  • Clearly demonstrated experience with PPAP, problem solving and issue resolution required
  • Knowledge of quality problem-solving methods including but not limited to, fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, Lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma
  • IATF 16949/ AS9100/ ISO 9001 Implementation and operating experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions of both internal Manufacturing and Supplier relations
  • Detail-oriented, effectively handles multiple priorities, has a strong quality mindset, can meet tight deadlines, and enjoys working in a team environment
  • Clear verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others in the English language
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; excellent computer literacy
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Location & Schedule:
This is a salaried, exempt position onsite in Carson, CA. The core hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am-4pm.

The starting pay range for this position is between $72,461 - 156,515 per year (depending on if you're as a Level I, II, III or senior engineer) plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
