Job description

Inspired Life Counseling is looking for the right associate or licensed therapist to join our team. This is a full-time W-2 position for an Associate or Licensed Therapist in California with a registration number from the Ca BBS.

This career offers longevity and excellent growth opportunities within a group practice you can call home. We offer a workplace that is supportive, collaborative and transparent in an authentic space.

About the Candidate

The candidate is interested in or looking for certification in a trauma modality and either already enjoys working with couples or is interested in learning and growing this skillset. In June, Inspired Life Counseling is hosting a private training for EMDRIA approved EMDR and the office is providing a partial scholarship for the clinicians who choose to attend as this is voluntary. The clinician employees will only pay $895 directly to the EMDR Consulting company for this training. Attending the training is voluntary and it is NOT a criterion for employment. The owner and supervisor of ILC is fully trained in EFT for couples and provides free supervision and consultation groups in-house for all clinicians who work here. The ideal candidate would be excited to be a part of a consultation group, regardless of licensure status.

About the Company

Inspired Life Counseling is a boutique practice that will provide you with clients, training, and fair compensation. The hours are flexible and the position is on-site in Chico with telehealth options for our cients.

The owner and supervisor is easygoing, open, supportive, and curious to learn from you, too. The overseeing clinician's goal is to help you become the best therapist through promoting your growth, clarifying your ideal client, and helping to cultivate a client base accordingly. Reading assignments and guidance building your professional reputation in the community is provided so when you’re ready to someday hang your own shingle you feel ready and prepared, if interested.

The culture is playful and casual, promoting your individuality and depth orientation, examination of counter-transference, and enthusiastic exploration of multiple models and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent subject
  • License or Registration Number with the BBS

This job will be a good fit if the following describes you:

  • Looking for a career, not for a contract or part-time work
  • Highly accountable
  • Honor cultural differences and diversity
  • Guided by laws and ethics
  • Passionate about mental health care and the clients we support
  • Love being an outpatient/private practice psychotherapist
  • Honest and genuine
  • Have conflict resolution and communication skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a caseload of 20-25 clients weekly
  • Conduct intakes, psychosocial assessments, and mental health diagnosis including the clients’ acuity, strengths, and treatment needs
  • Develop family-centered and culturally appropriate treatment plans and provide outpatient services to include: providing individual counseling to adults and adolescents and couples counseling. Use evidence-based practices and trauma-informed practices.
  • Responsible for clinical documentation, i.e., progress notes, patient assessments, service/treatment plans, and other forms/records as required in a timely manner. Maintain detailed case files and other documentation in 100% compliance with the program standards.
  • NPI number, liability insurance, and BBS registration
  • Maintain tracking and recording of hours for licensure and for payroll
  • Upholding standards of service operations, documentation, and confidentiality at all times
  • Complete BBS paperwork
  • Other duties as assigned

Benefits to working here:

· Friendly and professional admin staff to assist clinicians and clients.

· Monthly staff appreciation luncheons.

· Telephone in your therapy office with your unique direct line.

· Chromebooks for use in your office for charting and providing telehealth.

· Fully furnished office.

· ILC provides all marketing via a radio show, article in local paper, click ads, and providing every clinician with a Psychology Today profile.

· 72 hours of sick leave that can be used in increments if desired.

· Free supervision for associates.

· Free consultation group for licensees.

· Mentorship on the business aspects of being a therapist.

· Casual, easygoing, therapists who enjoy coming to work and in doing so create a positive work environment.

· So many snacks in the break room.

Covid-19 Policy:

We are considered a medical facility and as such we are required to wear masks at all times, except when you are in your own office, alone. Therapists and clients both wear masks during sessions and while in shared office space. We offer telehealth through Simple Practice and can provide remote sessions. Therapists provide all telehealth sessions from their office on-site at ILC.

Compensation:

· Associate Level Therapist with 22 clients a week can expect to earn apx $55,000 per year.

· Licensed Clinicians with 22 clients a week can expect to earn apx $79,000 per year.

This is calculated based upon averaging the varying amounts of insurance compensation between the various insurance companies while calculating over a 50 week period to account for vacations and it is not a guarantee of salary. Once a clinician has completed a Basic Training for EMDRIA approved EMDR their rate for services increases by $10, and therefore this has a positive impact on their compensation by increasing the gross pay calculated above.

*As referenced above, the office has been able to coordinate a voluntary training to begin in June which offers a discount to the clinicians employed at ILC. The owner paid $2,500 for her training in 2014 and is dedicated to helping other therapists access this evidence-based modality which she has witnessed change so many lives. The EMDR training offered this summer is on a voluntary basis, and is not required for employment. Because of this, the increase in a clinician's rate was not calculated into the compensation estimate.

Compensation is calculated as an hourly rate plus commission to equal the equivalent of a percentage of billables.

Ability to commute/relocate:

· Chico, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Company Description

Our team at Inspired Life Counseling has a shared purpose to help our community heal from the collective trauma we've experienced over the past few years. We believe that the therapist's mindset should be "Human first; therapist second." What that means is that we want you to be fully yourself when you're in the room with your client. Laugh if something is funny! We want you to take vacation days and sick days when you need time off. We want you to be okay with learning and growing because humans can't know everything about everything, and neither we nor your clients expect that from you (even though we can often put that standard on ourselves). We want you to leave work at work, and be fully present at home, so we provide phones in each office and don't allow personal cell phone use with clients - giving you that mental break so many in private practice don't allow for themselves. We want our clinicians to learn and grow, and encourage them to periodically present learning opportunities for scholarship (partial or full payment is dependant upon several factors such as length of time worked at the office and cost of training).
The therapists in our office are all able to balance a professional mindset with a happy demeanor. We genuinely enjoy each other's company, and we respect and trust one another. We believe that a healthy working atmosphere is the most important aspect to being able to fully show up at work and do the job we do. It can be a heavy job at times, and having the right team makes all the difference!
