What You'll Do
As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of commercial sign projects from planning through final installation, ensuring they are organized, executed efficiently, and completed to Mustang Signs' high standards for quality and safety. You'll coordinate every stage of the project while supporting planning, purchasing, scheduling, communication, and field execution to keep projects moving forward.
Project Planning
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and installation schedules
  • Define project scope and requirements in collaboration with internal teams
  • Coordinate project milestones between design, fabrication, permitting, and installation
  • Anticipate scheduling conflicts, material needs, and site challenges before they impact production
  • Forecast labor, equipment, and installation needs to keep projects on track

Buying & Procurement
  • Purchase materials, hardware, and specialty components required for assigned projects
  • Source pricing and availability from vendors and suppliers
  • Coordinate material deliveries to align with fabrication and installation schedules
  • Create and manage purchase orders while tracking procurement costs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, timelines, or customer expectations

Project Coordination & Scheduling
  • Coordinate installation crews, subcontractors, equipment rentals, and other resources
  • Monitor project schedules and proactively adjust timelines as needed
  • Communicate schedule changes and project updates across departments
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and project challenges to maintain momentum

Budget & Cost Control
  • Track project-related expenses including materials, labor, rentals, and subcontractor costs
  • Monitor project budgets and maintain accurate job cost information
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards

Client & Key Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage customer expectations, project updates, change orders, and approvals
  • Address questions and concerns professionally while building strong client relationships
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer commitments are met

Field Coordination & Quality Oversight
  • Collaborate with installation crews to ensure work aligns with plans and company standards
  • Provide support when site conditions or field challenges arise
  • Resolve project issues efficiently to maintain schedules
  • Conduct post-installation reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Permitting, Compliance & Documentation
  • Coordinate permits, inspections, and jurisdictional approvals as required
  • Ensure projects meet applicable code and customer requirements
  • Maintain organized project documentation including contracts, drawings, permits, purchase records, and reports
  • Track project performance, schedule adherence, budget performance, and client satisfaction
