Responsibilities
  • Use oxy/acetylene torches to bevel and prepare steel plate edges
  • Interpret drawings, templates, and instructions to ensure precise cuts and angles
  • Inspect workpieces for quality and accuracy throughout the beveling process
  • Operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment to move steel plates safely
  • Perform minor maintenance on beveling machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Work in coordination with welders, fitters, and shop supervisors to meet production goals
  • Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience operating beveling or cutting machinery in a steel fabrication environment preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to read a tape measure and interpret basic blueprints
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
  • Familiarity with Oxy/Acetylene torches
  • Familiarity with safe rigging techniques and overhead crane usage a plus
