Job description

Job Summary

This position is accountable for supervision and performance of hourly employees engaged in the processing and welding to ensure that the quantity and quality of production meet established targets, and customer requirements.

Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities   

  • Accomplish Manufacturing Staff Results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains weld shop staff by selecting, orienting and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repair and the evaluation of equipment.
  • Perform daily inspections on welded and fabricated components produced through processes such as laser cutting, brake, welding, and assembly.
  • Perform daily safety observations, ensure PPE compliance and drive daily safety culture.
  • Ensures accuracy of employee timecards and managed personnel PTO requests.
  • Manges the subassembly inventory and ensure enough supply.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ welding experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of material processing and welding.
  • Experience in fabrication, welding inspection, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
  • Experience in blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Understanding of the AWS D1.1 certification.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday 6am – 2:30pm.
  • Required to work some Saturdays.
