Job description

The Maintenance Shop Manager will oversee the efficient operation of our fleet maintenance facility. As the manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all maintenance activities, ensuring all vehicles and equipment are compliant with TEC and DOT regulations, and seeing to the timely and cost-effective upkeep of our diverse fleet. The Maintenance Shop Lead and Mechanics are direct reports of the Maintenance Shop Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of skilled technicians, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective repairs on all vehicles and equipment within the fleet.
2. Safety: Ensure adherence to all safety standards and regulations.
3. Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement effective maintenance plans to minimize downtime and maximize fleet availability, utilizing data from Fleetio for predictive maintenance insights.
4. Issue Resolution: Utilize Fleetio and notifications from shop personnel to resolve daily vehicle and equipment issues.
5. Asset Coordination: Coordinate asset deliveries to and from TEC branches.
6. Communication: Maintenance an open line of communication with branch managers to inform them of repair timelines and asset movement.
7. Fleetio Software Management: Proficiently utilize Fleetio software to streamline maintenance workflows, track vehicle history, and optimize preventive maintenance schedules.
8. Budget Management: Collaborate with the Director of Fleet to create and manage maintenance budgets, controlling costs without compromising on the quality of service.
9. Parts Management: Maintain a satisfactory level of commonly used parts and conduct quarterly inventory reviews.
10. Rental Management: Assist in securing rental equipment when necessary.
11. Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external vendors for parts procurement as well as core and unused parts returns.
12. Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and DOT regulations, while maintaining accurate records for audits.
13. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, leveraging Fleetio's analytics to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
14. Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports using Fleetio data to analyze key performance indicators, providing insights for informed decision-making.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Shop Manager, preferably in a fleet management environment.
• Proficiency in using Fleetio software for fleet maintenance management.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
• Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance processes and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and safety protocols.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Budget management experience.
