Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role involves managing warehouse staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring safety compliance, and optimizing warehouse processes to meet company goals.
Essential Functions
Oversee all warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve productivity and quality standards.
Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and coordinate with procurement and operations teams to manage stock levels.
Ensure warehouse operations comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Ensure proper maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory status, and staff productivity.
Coordinate with logistics and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Assist in managing warehouse budgets, including labor, equipment, and supplies.
Lead lean initiatives within warehouse operations by driving 5S, standard work, visual management, and waste reduction activities to improve safety, flow, and overall operational performance.
Champion continuous improvement efforts by analyzing warehouse metrics, identifying process gaps, and implementing corrective actions to enhance productivity, inventory accuracy, and on-time shipment performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree required, preferably in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years" manufacturing experience in shipping or materials management within a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar role.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
Experience with warehouse management systems, SAP and inventory software.
Excellent leadership and team management skills; strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results.
Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.
Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities.
Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive changes.
Must have strong process skills for standardization, continuous improvement and program management.
Strong analytical skills and working with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.
APICS certification is a plus but not required
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Physical ability to oversee warehouse activities and operate equipment
