UCT is looking for a talented Warehouse Supervisor - Shipping & Receiving to join us in Chandler, AZ!

The Warehouse Supervisor leads daily shipping, receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient material flow. This role places strong emphasis on shipping and receiving oversight, including carrier coordination, shipment execution, and issue resolution. The supervisor oversees staff performance, assigns work across logistics functions, and drives on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, capacity, and productivity.

By monitoring KPIs, coaching and developing employees, enforcing company policies, and driving cross-training and continuous improvement, this role ensures reliable logistics execution that supports operational and business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring efficient inbound and outbound material flow

  • Provide leadership and support to team members coordinating with carriers (LTL, parcel, freight) to ensure timely pickups and deliveries

  • Escalate and support resolution of shipping discrepancies, damages, claims, and delivery issues

  • Ensure team adherence to accurate shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, system transactions)

  • Monitor and drive on-time shipment performance and inbound delivery accuracy

  • Assign and prioritize work across receiving, inventory, warehouse, and shipping functions

  • Ensure proper product handling, storage, and material flow

  • Manage department productivity, staffing, capacity, and overtime

  • Track and report operational performance, including KPI reporting

  • Maintain alignment with company policies, safety standards, and procedures

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and administer corrective actions as needed

  • Establish and maintain cross-training plans to support operational flexibility

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Strong working knowledge of shipping & receiving operations, carrier management, and freight coordination

  • Experience resolving shipment delays, discrepancies, and claims

  • Understanding of transportation documentation (BOLs, ASN, etc.)

  • Ability to maintain inventory accuracy and support cycle counting processes

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, JIT, or Kanban systems (preferred)

  • Strong process discipline with focus on safety, organization, and workflow efficiency

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including the ability to build and analyze KPI reports using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data tracking tools

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or equivalent in Business Administration.

Work Experience:  

  • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving operations required
  • Experience coordinating with carriers, managing shipments, and resolving delivery issues
  • Experience in manufacturing or high-volume warehouse environments preferred
  • Experience with warehouse/logistics best practices and systems (SAP preferred)
  • Exposure to Lean, JIT, or Demand Flow Manufacturing (preferred)

Management Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of warehouse/logistics experience

  • 1–3+ years of supervisory experience managing 5–10+ employees

  • Proven ability to:

    • Lead and develop employees
    • Drive productivity and continuous improvement
    • Manage resources and operational performance
  • Experience managing complex, high-value inventory (e.g., assemblies, machined parts, etc.)

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Proficiency using ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
