ASRC Federal Advanced Research is currently seeking a Configuration Manager to support autonomy vehicle integrations in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Considering the state of the world today, military technical innovation is critical to defending our territories and those of our allies. The US Army is currently exploring advancements to equip ground combat forces with autonomous vehicle platforms. This effort presents a unique opportunity for civilians to participate in the research and development efforts that will shape future battlefield combat platforms.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of configuration management principles and practices within Department of Defense programs.
  • Proficiency with Windchill PLM and associated engineering data management processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, document control systems, and content management platforms.
  • Experience managing software configurations, version control processes, and software release documentation.
  • Proficient in use of MS Project, MS Excel, MS Outlook and SharePoint.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain Configuration Management (CM) processes and procedures in accordance with contract requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Control and maintain configuration identification, configuration status accounting, and configuration verification throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Administer and maintain Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, including Windchill, to ensure accurate control of engineering data and product structures.
  • Manage the release, revision, approval, and archival of engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material (BOMs), software releases, manufacturing work instructions, and technical data packages.
  • Coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) throughout the review and approval process.
  • Ensure all approved engineering changes are properly incorporated into vehicle builds, manufacturing documentation, software releases, and technical baselines.
  • Coordinate with engineering, software development, manufacturing, quality assurance, logistics, and program management personnel to ensure configuration compliance.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management metrics, reports, and dashboards to support program reviews and customer reporting requirements.
  • Manage document repositories, libraries, and workflow processes utilizing SharePoint and related content management systems.
  • Ensure controlled distribution, access, retention, and archival of technical data and program documentation.
  • Support software configuration management activities, including version control, software baselines, release tracking, and deployment documentation.
  • Support the development, review, and delivery of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for customer acceptance, production, sustainment, and fielding activities.
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of TDPs, including drawings, specifications, software documentation, test reports, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Conduct configuration audits, functional configuration audits (FCA), and physical configuration audits (PCA) to verify compliance with approved baselines.
  • Generate and maintain vehicle configuration records supporting testing, demonstrations, customer evaluations, and delivery acceptance.
  • Identify configuration risks and implement corrective actions to prevent unauthorized changes, documentation discrepancies, and baseline deviations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining program Data Management Plans (DMPs), Configuration Management Plans (CMPs), and associated procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance.
  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and eight years of related experience in a technical environment.
  • Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS, 25% annually.
