Job description

This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by coordinating Program Support Division (PSD) training activities, managing PSD SharePoint and intranet resources, and supporting Operational Support Services (OSS) project and process improvement efforts.
Under the direction of the Supervisor I (Sup I) of the Policy, Training and Administrative Services (PTAS) Unit, the Analyst II develops and supports PSD training, manages intranet and SharePoint content, and assists with OSS operational projects. Responsibilities include creating training materials, coordinating logistics with subject matter experts, communicating training opportunities to PSD staff, and conducting research and analysis to support training development. The position also compiles monthly, quarterly, and annual training assessment reports to inform planning for future training needs.
The Analyst II works under the general direction of the Supervisor (Sup) I of the PTAS Unit.
The Analyst I classification is distinguished from the Analyst II classification by the scope of responsibility, complexity of work performed, independence of action, decision-making, and level of supervision received. The classification consists of three alternate ranges and as the Analyst I advances within the classification ranges, their responsibilities are expected to show broader knowledge of the work environment, and organizational and/or departmental requirements while the scope of work increases.
The Analyst I works under the supervision of the Sup I of the PTAS Unit.
This is a 12 month Limited Term position with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent.
In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees' monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.
