Senior Systems Analyst

Capstone Research Corporation is seeking to expand our team. We provide high level engineering to the Department of War with Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems Engineering expertise to solve the tough interoperability problems facing Warfighters today. We have an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Analyst who will support USAF Program Acquisition Element Command, Control, Communications, Battle Management (PAE C3BM) and the Homeland Air Defense Mission Integration Team (HAD MIT) at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.

Position Description:

The Senior Systems Analyst will lead assigned operational analysis, mission integration, and technical efforts in support of USAF Homeland Air Defense initiatives. This senior-level position is instrumental in developing and applying the Homeland Air Defense Design Reference Mission (DRM) to understand end-to-end Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) mission execution, identify operational and system integration gaps, and inform USAF capability development and acquisition activities.

The position requires deep knowledge of IAMD operations, command and control, battle management, and joint mission execution, combined with the ability to lead multidisciplinary technical efforts involving operators, systems engineers, architects, modelers, acquisition organizations, and test organizations. The successful candidate will translate warfighter operational concepts and mission needs into clear direction for engineering and modeling teams and ensure technical products accurately represent operational reality.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated operational, planning, mission engineering, or technical experience with Integrated Air and Missile Defense, air defense, joint air operations, or closely related command-and-control missions.
  • Strong understanding of IAMD operational concepts, battle management processes, command-and-control relationships, and engagement execution.
  • Experience analyzing complex mission threads involving combinations of sensors, C2/BMC2 systems, communications networks, tactical data links, and weapon systems.
  • Working understanding of air/missile threat characterization, the integration required to conduct analysis, correlation, and fusion of multi-source intelligence and sensor information to conduct IAMD planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary teams involving multiple Government and technical organizations.
  • Ability to translate operational mission needs and warfighter concepts into actionable direction for systems engineering, architecture, modeling, and technical analysis teams.
  • Working familiarity with systems engineering, mission engineering, architecture, requirements development, or MBSE sufficient to effectively direct and review technical work.
  • Ability to facilitate technical and operational working groups and communicate effectively across operational, engineering, acquisition, and leadership communities.
  • Recent/9+ years experience with IAMD, air defense, joint air operations, C3BM, mission integration, or related warfighting concepts and execution.
  • 5+ years experience leading complex system-of-systems, mission integration, operational analysis, or technical programs/projects.
  • BS degree
  • Good problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 20-25% of the time to various destinations.
  • Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Must be US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operational or staff experience supporting an Air Operations Center, air defense organization, combatant or component command, Service operational headquarters, or comparable IAMD organization.
  • Detailed understanding of joint IAMD concepts including Area Air Defense Commander responsibilities, defensive counterair, combat identification, engagement authorities, weapons control, airspace control, and Joint Engagement Sequence execution.
  • Experience with relevant IAMD capabilities and architectures such as tactical C2/BMC2 systems, IBCS/IFCN, Patriot, NASAMS, airborne battle management, tactical data links, sensor networks, and air or missile defense effectors.
  • Experience working across military Services, combatant commands, acquisition organizations, laboratories, FFRDCs, and defense industry partners.
  • Familiarity with UAF, SysML, DoDAF, Cameo/MagicDraw, or comparable architecture and MBSE approaches; hands-on modeling expertise is not required.
  • BS degree in STEM preferred; MS in STEM or management preferred
  • Ability to grow technical efforts and take on task leadership for the customer and Company.
