Senior Software Engineer

Fidelity Digital Assets®, a Fidelity Investments Company, is developing a full-service enterprise-grade platform for storing, trading and servicing digital assets. Our goal in Core Custody product area is to design and build a suite of digital asset services and investment applications to serve the unique and varying needs of our institutional and retail investors.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Core Custody engineering team. You’ll get the opportunity to develop your skills, collaborate across Fidelity teams, and continue to learn in a fun, collaborative, iterative, and rapidly changing environment. This is a hands-on role where you will write code for product features. You will work closely with the technical lead and architect to build secure, scalable, resilient cloud-based microservices utilizing modern software development practices. You will help design and implement REST API clients and services, exchange asynchronous messages between services, and use SQL databases to manage data. You will also write automated unit and integration tests, package software using containers, coordinate builds using continuous integration pipelines, and prepare your services for deployment on AWS.

The Expertise You Have
  • Expert in core Java technologies and frameworks like Spring Boot
  • Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests using JUnit and Spring Boot
  • Experience building and maintaining integration tests across distributed or microservice-based systems
  • Proficient in databases, SQL, and data management
  • Understanding of AWS or other cloud platforms and containerization technologies such as Docker or ECS
  • Experience working with version control systems like GIT
  • Solid understanding of Agile development processes and continuous integration/deployment practices
  • Experience with asynchronous workers and resilient messaging services such as SNS and SQS
  • An understanding of microservice architectures and twelve-factor app patterns
  • Provide actionable feedback in pull request reviews
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Rest Assured or PlayWright would be a plus
  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools for code generation, refactoring, and debugging is an advantage
