Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst to join our technology team, with a special focus on Artificial Intelligence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Python, Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle PL/SQL, along with hands-on experience in developing AI agents and utilizing modern AI tools. This role requires a dynamic individual who can lead complex technical projects, particularly in the AI space, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver high-quality, innovative solutions under tight deadlines. The AVP will be instrumental in driving the successful implementation of our AI initiatives and ensuring they align with our strategic business goals.
The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement Java and AI-powered solutions, and contribute in the creation and refinement of AI agents
  • Conduct systems analysis and programming for complex software applications with a focus on scalability and performance
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML and identify opportunities to apply them to solve business challenges
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, from conception to completion, with a focus on AI-related initiatives
  • Implement and oversee project management techniques and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Develop detailed project plans, track progress, and manage project resources effectively
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team in Java, Spring Boot, Python, and AI technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and technical requirements
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effectively manage and respond to unexpected changes in project requirements, timelines, or expectations
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues, demonstrating the ability to work well under pressure
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities with a calm and focused approach
  • Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in Java and Python, AI tools, and Oracle PL/SQL
  • Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
  • Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
