Production Manager @ Glanbia

The Opportunity 

The Production Manager is responsible for managing daily operations in a food manufacturing facility, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Overseeing staffing, production, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with company goals and regulatory standards.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to the Senior Production Manager or Plant Manager for action.
  • Fill in on floor if needed to ensure production timelines and KPI's are achieved.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

What You Will Bring To The Team

  • A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety standards.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, GMP).
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement practices.
