Job description

External Job Description

Sr Learning & Development Specialist

At Nouryon, our global team takes positive action every day, to reach higher collectively and individually. We create innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers to answer society’s needs – today and in the future.

We are looking for team members who bring ideas forward, champion others and work together to do better. Does that sound like you?

About the job

Senior Global Learning & Development Specialist to lead and execute operational excellence across central learning governance, the LMS, and global leadership development programs. This role is the operational engine behind Nouryon's talent, learning and development strategy — ensuring programs, processes, and learning governance are delivered effectively, consistently, and at a standard that reflects the ambition of the organization’s People Capability agenda. The role holder works closely with and directly supports the Global Talent Development Lead, and collaborates across Functional Learning Academies, the HR organization, HR Technology, and external vendors to continuously raise the quality of learning platform governance, learner experience, and leadership program outcomes — contributing to a culture where development is taken seriously and followed through.

In your future role as “Sr Learning & Development Specialist” you will

  • Contribute to and coordinate Nouryon's global learning and development strategy and processes, ensuring they are coherent with the broader People Capability agenda and directly connected to business priorities. Work in close partnership with functional academies to raise the quality of learning impact and learner experience across the organisation — so that development actions agreed in People Capability Reviews translate into real capability growth, not just programme attendance.

  • Own and continuously improve LMS governance in close coordination with functional academy leads and HR Technology teams, with a clear focus on learner experience and measurable learning outcomes. Maintain the Learning Management System so content is current, accurate, and organised to support the development journeys identified through talent processes. Track learning participation, completion, and key learning KPIs, and use this data to inform decisions on where the organisation's development investment is having the greatest effect.

  • Act as an active contributor to Nouryon's Talent and People Capability strategy — not only by delivering learning programmes, but by ensuring those programmes close the capability gaps surfaced through People Capability Reviews, succession planning, and leadership calibration. This means staying close to what HRBPs and business leaders are hearing in the field and translating those insights into learning solutions that are timely and targeted.
  • Support the design and delivery of learning initiatives that build the foundational skills, knowledge, and capabilities Nouryon needs across all levels and locations. Coordinate programme logistics, content curation, and administration to ensure offerings are accessible, relevant, and connected to the capability themes emerging from people reviews — turning identified gaps into scalable solutions.

  • Coordinate and support the creation, continuous improvement, and delivery of central leadership development programmes that build the leadership capabilities Nouryon needs to deliver its 2026 strategy and beyond. Provide hands-on operational support to participants and stakeholders, and contribute actively to programme design, ensuring content reflects the leadership expectations and mindset shifts the organisation is working towards.

  • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of talent development processes so they remain efficient, user-friendly, and genuinely useful to the people running them — HRBPs, managers, and business leaders alike. Gather data, feedback, and field insights to identify what is working and what is not, and report findings and recommendations to the Global Talent Development Manager to inform continuous improvement.

  • Support consistent talent development practices across all regions, helping to monitor adherence to global standards while enabling locally relevant adaptations. Play an active role in building a shared language and approach to capability development across Nouryon — so that the outcomes of People Capability Reviews, wherever they happen, are supported by learning solutions of equal quality and intent.

  • Be the operational backbone of the Global Talent Development team. Execute talent and learning initiatives with precision and a hands-on mindset, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery. Directly support HRBPs and business leaders in applying talent and development processes in practice — bridging the gap between strategic intent and what actually happens in the organisation.

We believe you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and coordinating learning and development in a multinational organisation. Solid working knowledge of LMS governance, learning deployment, program administration, leadership development, and learner experience management. Demonstrated experience with digital HR tools and learning management systems.

Great if you have

  • Master's degree or professional certification in L&D, Talent Management, or HR (e.g. CPTD, CIPD)

  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Learning. Exposure to People Capability or Talent Review processes and how learning connects to talent decisions.
