Role:
As an Inventory Specialist at Northwood, you will be an integral part of our Supply Chain team, ensuring that materials, hardware, and components flow seamlessly through our Torrance manufacturing facility. You'll play a key role in enabling rapid production and deployment of our systems, maintaining precision and reliability across all inventory operations.
We operate in a lean, transparent, high-trust environment that rewards initiative and adaptability. You'll work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and operations to ensure our inventory systems scale with our growth.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and store raw materials, parts, and hardware to support manufacturing and R&D operations
  • Pick, organize, and stage components to keep production running efficiently and ensure build accuracy.
  • Verify incoming materials for conformity, quantity, part numbers, and damage-free condition
  • Maintain strict material handling and traceability practices
  • Monitor shelf-life storage and perform stock rotations to ensure part integrity
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventories
  • Record all inventory movements and transactions in our ERP system with attention to detail
  • Support inventory replenishment and continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain team
  • Perform cycle counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with safety standards

Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of inventory control or warehouse experience
  • Experience with computer software, including spreadsheets, email, and resource planning programs
  • Understanding of inventory and kitting processes
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (4-6 hours/day) and lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience operating forklifts and related inventory equipment
  • Familiarity with Manufacturo or other manufacturing software (ERP/MRP)
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environments
  • Prior experience in aerospace, electronics, or related manufacturing fields
