Position Summary:

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting material flow within a harness manufacturing environment. This position performs inventory transactions, cycle counting, discrepancy investigations, and inventory reconciliation activities to ensure material availability for production. The Inventory Specialist works closely with Receiving, Production, Planning, Procurement, and Quality teams to maintain accurate inventory records and support operational objectives.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through timely and accurate ERP/MRP transactions.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and assist with reconciliation of physical inventory to system inventory records.
  • Assist with scheduled physical inventories as needed.
  • Assist with kitting allocation activities
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Verify material transactions including receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
  • Support material kitting and line side inventory replenishment activities to ensure production readiness.
  • Investigate material shortages from the production floor and submit Ad hoc material requests
  • Monitor inventory locations and ensure proper storage, identification, and traceability of materials.
  • Support shelf-life-controlled materials life cycle management
  • Work with Production, Planning, Quality, and Procurement teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Assist with inventory audits and compliance activities.
  • Follow established inventory control procedures and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and stockroom environment.
  • Train others as required.

 Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of inventory control, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in working in Aerospace/Defense Manufacturing environments
  • Experience working in an ERP/MRP system.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and transaction accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and perform basic root cause investigations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with barcode scanning systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Supply Chain, Business or other STEM based degrees
