Job description

Stock Controller - Private Shopping

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Stock Controller will be responsible for managing the department's stock movement, working in conjunction with the Private Shoppers and Management team.

About the Role

In this role the Stock Controller will be primarily focused on streamlining and monitoring stock movement processes internally amongst various shop floor departments and efficient stock delivery to clients.

In addition to this, you will be responsible for the below duties:

  • Reviewing client stock holdings from each Private Shopper, and ensure aged stock is followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring current invalid reports and escalate any issues that arise to the Stock Integrity Operations Manager.
  • Monitoring department sales reports to highlight issues with transactional processing which may in turn effect stock integrity.
  • Providing a link between Management and shop floor teams to ensure that the Private Shopping business works as a cohesive unit.
  • Overseeing departmental stock counts by site to identify stock holding and ensuring stock is returned to its departments in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining and managing any stock related discrepancies, keeping the Stock Integrity Operations Managers informed of outstanding issues to ensure that these are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Working closely with both Own Bought stock control teams and Concession operational teams to maintain transparent and effective communication channels, keeping up to date stock trackers and communicating back to Concessions and other departments in a timely manner.

You will have excellent customer service skills and be confident that the decisions you make will be in the best interest of our customers. You will ensure that you develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and customers alike, whilst being able to handle a wide range of responsibilities.

You will also:

  • Have a thorough global understanding of stock data inventory to carry out related tasks proficiently.
  • Possess fantastic teamwork and relationship building skills, working with many different stakeholders within the business in an effort to produce effective results.
  • Have a proven track record of objective setting and relevant training to address areas of development amongst teams and to further the learning of each individual within the teams.
  • Ability to effectively network with other stakeholders throughout the business to further the success of the department.
  • Be proactive and prompt in every aspect of your duties.
  • Be comfortable with safely lifting boxes up to 20kg.
