Job description

Work Schedule - Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM

Inventory Controller 1 contributes to the efficient operation of the warehouse by maintaining proper inventory levels of all products for the Branch office. Inventory Controller 1 will be responsible for assisting the Logistics Manager with keeping accurate records of incoming and outgoing products. Will also be providing inventory reports and identifying any discrepancies for review by the Logistics Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee RMA processes, inventory control function, and all aspects of inventory for the Branch office.
  • To successfully maintain inventory and stock integrity at the set standard and ensure any inventory rotation requirements are followed at all times which include FIFO and FEFO.
  • Conducts cycle count inventory processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
  • Set up expiry date cycle counting & reconciliation process in conjunction with company guidelines. Lead process and regularly maintain/produce expiry date reporting.
  • Ensure the warehouse management system is accurately and promptly updated for all inventory transactions and adjustments.
  • Maintains and evaluates inventory records on a daily basis.
  • Maintains adequate storage for warehouse and on-site inventory.
  • Performs cycle count activities to assure inventory accuracy; researches incorrect heat and work order numbers; makes bin-to-bin transactions; marks open bin locations for received work orders.
  • Conduct an effective investigation of the root cause of inventory variances, producing detailed analysis and recommending counter-measure solutions to management
  • Under the direction of a manager, teach and train a group of associates in inventory control works and have them perform efficiently.
  • Assist in establishing operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposing of merchandise, and keep accurate warehouse inventory.
  • Provide fill-in support for other departments in the warehouse.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience/ Training/ Education

  • High School or GED
  • 1 to 2 years of inventory control 
  • Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack is training and/ or certificate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints;
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of warehouse environment;
  • Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and vendors.
  • Ability to apply general rules and policy to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • PC literate. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job-specific software applications.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Ability to operate material handler equipment proficiently.
  • Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance
  • Available to work extended hours.

Working Conditions

The Inventory Controller will spend time in the warehouse's refrigerated (Cooler and Freezer) section. Machinery operation requires using safety equipment including but not limited to steel-toed boots. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (standard 40 hours per week); however, evening, night shift, overtime, and weekend hours are common in some branch offices.
