Senior Inventory Accountant

Calling all Senior Inventory Accountants!! Our client, a growing manufacturing and operations-based company located in the Raleigh, NC area, needs a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Inventory Accountant to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inventory accounting professional to take ownership of complex inventory processes in a dynamic, multi-location environment.

While working as the Senior Inventory Accountant, you will work closely with Accounting, Operations, and Plant leadership to ensure accurate inventory valuation, costing, and reporting, with responsibilities including:

  • Overseeing finished goods inventory processes, including item master setup and ongoing maintenance
  • Reconciliations of physical-to-book inventory, including volumetric and drone-based measurement data
  • Calculating and posting inventory adjustments based on physical counts, analytics, and operational inputs
  • Partnering with operations teams to ensure accurate stockpile measurements and costing assumptions
  • Developing and maintaining standard costing models and analyzing cost variances and changes
  • Monitoring raw material usage, yield, and shrinkage; investigating and resolving inventory variances
  • Performing monthly inventory reconciliations and resolving discrepancies across multiple locations
  • Overseeing accounting and control of parts and supplies across plants, shops, and maintenance facilities
  • Maintaining accurate inventory classification between inventory and expense accounts by location
  • Implementing and managing cycle count programs to ensure ongoing inventory accuracy
  • Reconciling inventory subledger to the general ledger and ensuring data integrity across systems
  • Analyzing usage trends, slow-moving or obsolete inventory, and recommending reserves or write-offs
  • Maintaining item master data, including costing, units of measure, and proper categorization
